The moment you've all been waiting for is finally here. Just a few days after his former One Direction bandmates dropped their new album, Made in the A.M., Zayn Malik unleashed the very first taste of his solo material and the name of the cut is called "Befour."
In a behind-the-scenes video for his upcoming cover story for FADER, the elusive pop star opened up about his next chapter in music as his new song "Befour" played in the background. Directioners will likely see the unique spelling as a tie to the band since Four was the name of their last LP as a fivesome.
In the interview, which will go live on their site at 6 p.m. on Tuesday (November 17), Zayn walked the magazine through a string of hot topics, including why he quite 1D and what he's got prepped for his upcoming solo debut. The magazine reports that he wrote all the songs and worked with Channel Orange producer James "Malay" Ho on the set.
"I don't feel like people really know what I’m going to give them, musically," Zayn said. "And once they hear it, I feel like they will understand me a little bit more, and they’ll understand why I did what I did, and why I left the band, and why I had to write all this sh*t down."
