Instagrammers are flocking to the Bronx to pose on iconic Joker stairs

Joker is raking it in at the boxoffice. Over $250M to date. Now, Fans of the movie are heading to The Bronx to pose on the staircase where Joaquin Phoenix danced down, set to Gary Glitter's Rock n Roll Part 2. So where is it? It's in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, at West 167th Street, and it has become a huge tourist attraction much to the shagrin of local residents. "I've literally fallen down these stairs before," one online commenter tells Time Out New York magazine, while another cautions: "If you wanna get robbed then sure. I grew up there all my life and if you ain't from there, don't know people from there then don't be chillin in the hood." Another local says, "If you're coming here don't just take a picture on our steps, buy something from a local business to support the community," Comedian Desus Nice, who co-hosts Showtime's "Desus & Mero," tweeted about people visiting the stairs saying, "legally as a bronx resident you're allowed and encouraged to tax anyone visiting the joker stairs."
