Off Duty Cop Fired After Stopping Black Shoppers For Being ‘Suspicious’

Aaron Blackwell and his cousin Durell Cunningham went shopping. They spent over $1,000 at Nordstrom rack in Indiana and as they got in their vehicle, they had no idea why the Nordstrom Rack security guard was heading straight for them.. It didn’t make sense, Blackwell would later recall. The man(turns out he was a security guard at N.R. and an off duty cop) had watched them pay for their items inside the Indianapolis store. Still he followed them outside and tried to take down their license plate number. Then he began demanding Cunningham to show him his driver’s license saying they were "acting suspicious.". If he didn’t see identification soon, the man threatened to tow their car or have them arrested. The pair knew their rights and demanded he call his supervisor. The guard/cop was identified as Lawrence Township deputy constable Daryl Jones. The video has gone viral, Jones not only got canned from the store, but also from his position with the police department.
