Man arrested after high speed chase trying to teach pit bull to drive

Yes, you read the title correctly, this is not an April Fool's joke! According to the Washington State Patrol, a man in Lakewood, Washington led State troopers on a high speed chase with his dog in the driver's seat.

The man hit two cars and failed to stop, which prompted the high-speed chase up Interstate 5. The car was driving erratically and multiple people called 911.

One trooper tried to corner the car and saw a pit bull sitting in the driver's seat while the suspect steered. What a sight that must've been. The troopers were able to stop the car with spike trips and arrested the man. The man's only explanation was that he was "trying to teach his dog how to drive."

The suspect's dog is safe and has been sent to a shelter. No one was harmed. Check out footage of the chase below!
