Georgia woman recovers from coronavirus in time to celebrate 100th birthday

In a post made on Facebook, Phoebe Putney Health System in Albany, Georgia celebrated the release of a 99-year-old coronavirus patient who has recovered from the virus. The 99-year-old woman named Maude Burke is just shy of her 100th birthday. She is the oldest COVID-19 patient to be discharged from the Albany hospital.

In the Facebook video, the nurses lined the hallway of the hospital and cheered Burke on as she left to go home! The video was captioned, "We continue to celebrate with our#COVID_19patients when they get well enough to go home from our hospitals. This celebration was extra special. Maude Burke is just a few months shy of her 100th birthday! She is the oldest COVID-19 patient we’ve been able to discharge. Her strength and determination are amazing, and we wish her well as she continues to recover. Thank you for being an inspiration, Ms. Maude!"
