Black store owner attacked by the cops HE called to report a robbery

A black store owner in Alabama was punched and wrestled to the ground after the cops he called mistook him for the suspect.

The incident occurred in March, but the footage of the incident gained attention on social media after it was posted on Sunday.

The business owner, Kevin Penn, called 911 to report a robbery and he was armed when police responded to the scene. Penn told the cops he owned the shop and seconds later, a responding officer mistook the owner as a suspect and punched him.

Body camera footage from officers show the officer telling Penn to put down his gun and the owner refusing saying, "I have a right to have my gun.”

Penn suffered a broken jaw, and had to have his mouth wired shut. Some of his teeth were also knocked out.

Penn was arrested and charged with obstructing a governmental operation. His charged are pending.
