Katy Perry Has Been Teasing Her Baby's Cute Name For Months

On Wednesday (August 26), Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom announced the arrival of their first child together, a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom. The proud parents shared their happy news via a statement to UNICEF alongside a black and white image of newborn Daisy grasping their fingers.“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” the statement reads.

In the photo, Perry shows off a daisy-themed manicure, which is just one of many indications that the new mom has been planning to name her daughter Daisy for quite some time. Back in May, Perry released her song 'Daisies' as a single along with daisy-filled music video. After her daughter's arrival, fans couldn't stop talking about the connection. "No wonder Katy Perry said Orlando’s fave song on smile was 'Daisies'... they were literally teasing us this whole time and now it’s daisy dove bloom officially omg," one fan wrote.

In a recent interview, Perry was asked if she'd ever consider naming her baby after songs on her upcoming album, particularly "Daisies" or “Harleys in Hawaii." Perry replied “I’ve never thought of Harley…ever! Wow! Harley is a great name! Harley Bloom. Hold on…excuse me, I’m writing it down.” She expertly avoided discussing Daisy as her daughter's name.

Perry's also been sharing a ton of daisy-themed content on Instagram recently, which many fans assumed was just promo for her single and upcoming album. As it turns out, there was much more to the story than everybody realized.

In June, Perry performed 'Daisies' during iHeartRadio's Can't Cancel Pride event. The performance, unsurprisingly, was packed full of the beautiful flower.

According to FlowerMeanings.org, daisies are symbolic of innocence and new beginnings, which definitely fits the arrival of a new baby. BabyNames.com cites the meaning of Dove as bird of peace, as well.

Congratulations to Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom on the arrival of Daisy Dove Bloom!
