False News Spreads Faster Than Good News

I feel like we already knew this? But we needed it backed up by science to even believe it? Lol!

Anyway... According to Soroush Vosoughi a graudate student from MIT concluded that false news from twitter speads quicker than real news.

“I don’t think it’s because of Twitter and other social media platforms, but because of something that has always existed in human nature” Vosoughi said. “People like to pass gossip and rumors around. It’s just that it’s now amplified.”

In regards to twitter false news stories are 70 percent more likely to be retweeted than true ones, and it takes a true story six times as long to reach its first 1,500 viewers.

Do you believe that false news has a tendency to spread quicker than good news?

I would have to agree - but that's just me talking.
