Before Kristin Davis was Sex and The City's sophisticated hopeless romantic Charlotte York (introduced to the world in 1997) she was Melrose Place's spoiled and mischievous Brooke Armstrong.
The beloved actress recently spoke to People about the pressures attached to portraying Armstrong aside a slew of gorgeous, fit actresses. While Davis was fond of her co-stars (shouting out Heather Locklear specially for being "so incredibly nice"), she developed an unhealthy habit to keep up with them.
“There was a general vibe on the set, though, that was difficult, about the thinness situation. Every single person was gorgeous and super skinny. So I was like, 'This is what I have to do.'"
Davis (whose backup plan was to open a yoga studio in the early 90s if acting didn't work out) exercised with a running coach and took multiple spin classes a day to maintain her figure.
"I’m sure I wasn’t eating. I’d be so lightheaded that I fainted in a parking lot one time. Sometimes I couldn’t remember my name."
The Couples Retreat star recently launched her new iHeartRadio podcast, Are You A Charlotte? where she rewatches SATC episodes and offers Charlotte-like comments on each. The podcast dives into behind-the-scenes takes of the award-winning series and features a handful of special guests.
