GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - The Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) has arrested two people following a traffic stop that ended in a chase Tuesday morning.
Around 4:00 a.m., Tuesday morning, GCPD officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Perry Lane and Cate Road. A man, woman and child were in the vehicle.
According to police, the male passenger, Michael Jason, fled the traffic stop; officers ran after him, and Jason was taken into custody after the officer deployed his taser.
GCPD officers then searched the vehicle and located fentanyl (17.4 grams), marijuana (17.9 grams), crack cocaine (1.5 grams) and a digital scale. Jason was charged with:
- Trafficking Fentanyl
- Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
- Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute
- Cruelty to Children ( 3rd degree )
Jason also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
The mother of the child, who remained in the vehicle with the child, also faces multiple charges including Cruelty to Children ( 3rd degree ).
