SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Five schools in the Savannah area have been recognized for their exceptional efforts in helping students enroll and succeed in college.
For the past seven years, GreatSchools.org has handed out the College Success Award to schools around the country that make a conscious effort to help their students when it comes to enrolling and succeeding at the next level.
The local winning schools are:
- Islands High School
- Liberty County High School
- Richmond Hill High School
- Savannah Arts Academy
- Savannah Early College High School
These five schools are among 104 in Georgia and 1,436 nationally being recognized for their college readiness efforts.
Here is the list of all the winning schools in Georgia.
Seven of the 19 states have had schools recognized since the award began. This is due to their states’ transparent data policies that make college enrollment, performance, and persistence information publicly available.
The seven states that have been recognized each year are Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Missouri.
