Arrest made in home invasion where men dressed as Amazon workers

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Police have arrested a man who was allegedly part of a home invasion where the attackers dressed as Amazon workers.

According to a GoFundMe, Dirk Hardison, who is a bartender at O’Connell’s Pub, was attacked by two men pretending to be Amazon delivery drivers.

Tyrone Anthony, 27, was arrested in connection to a home invasion in the 500 block of Price Street, a Savannah Police Department (SPD) spokesperson said. He is being charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and home invasion.

The victim told SPD that when he heard a knock on his front door, he looked through and saw the delivery drivers and opened the front door.

A police report said the suspects forced themselves into the home asking “where the money was” before striking Hardison in the head with an unknown object — possibly a sledgehammer.

Hardison was taken to a local hospital for treatment after suffering from several headwounds.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers, 912-234-2020, or submit an anonymous tip through the SPD mobile app.
