BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) — The City of Beaufort will be planting two trees in honor of Arbor Day on the first Friday of December.
The celebration will take place on Palmetto Street outside the Beaufort Police Department at 10 a.m. on Dec. 6. The city, it's Public Works Department and the Park and Tree Advisory Commission (PTAC) will plant two Alee Elm trees.
City officials said that the City of Beaufort has been named Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation for 33 years.
