BURTON, S.C. (WSAV) – Firefighters in Burton worked quickly Friday morning to extinguish a fire involving an excavator.
The Burton Fire District was initially called to a report of a brush fire at the end of Still Shadow Lane in Habersham. When crews arrived on the scene, they found a commercial excavator up in flames.
Leaking fuel fed the fire, officials said.

Candler County responds to massive fire
In 20 minutes and with 3,000 gallons of water and foam, firefighters fully extinguished the fire.
No injuries were reported. The excavator was heavily damaged.
There is no word yet on the exact cause of the blaze.
Burton Fire said the leaking fuel was contained and will be properly disposed of.
