Chatham County Health Department offering drive-through vaccination clinic

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – The Chatham County Health Department is offering a drive-through flu vaccination clinic.

The event will be on Thursday, October 31, in the parking lot of Memorial Stadium at 101

John J. Scott Drive in Savannah. Pull up anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a no-cost

flu shot. No appointment is needed.

“For anyone with a busy schedule, this event makes it easy and convenient to get your annual

flu shot,” said Dr. Sierra Peebles, Nurse Manager of the Chatham County Health Department.

“You don’t even have to get out of your car, which can be especially helpful for our senior

citizens and for people with small children.”

Many health insurance plans are accepted, and there are no-cost options for individuals

without health insurance. Flu vaccine will be available for everyone aged six months and older,

including the high-dose flu vaccine recommended for seniors aged 65 and up.

In addition to the drive-through event, flu vaccinations are available at the Chatham County

Health Department every day during regular clinic hours by appointment.

The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone over six months of age. Vaccination is particularly

important for those at high risk of complications from flu, including adults 65 and older,

children younger than five, pregnant women, people with weakened immune systems, and

people with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease.
