DOUGLAS, Ga. (WSAV) – A 17-year-old has been arrested for allegedly killing his father early Tuesday morning in Coffee County, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) said.
Miguel Gonzalez faces charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
The GBI said around 2 a.m. Tuesday, agents were requested by the Coffee County Sheriff's Office to investigate a shooting incident in the 100 block of Park Place Road in Douglas.
Investigators said the incident happened after the suspect's father, Israel Rivera Cruz, and mother, Jasmine Gonzalez, had been arguing. Miguel Gonzalez allegedly approached Cruz with a gun and, after the two struggled over it, shot him multiple times, killing him.

The suspect inadvertently shot his 31-year-old mother, who was later treated at a hospital and released, the GBI said.
Miguel Gonzales was taken into custody by deputies and transported to the Coffee County Jail.
The GBI said an autopsy will be conducted for Cruz. He was 45.
