WALTERBORO, S.C. (WSAV) – Colleton County emergency operations are expected to return to normal depending on conditions along the Edisto River overnight.

Since Sunday, residents have been encouraged to evacuate due to rising water levels after what officials have called "historic" flooding in nearby Orangeburg County.

Officials said if river conditions do not further deteriorate, the Emergency Operations Center, Colleton County Fire Rescue and the Colleton County Sheriff's Office will return to normal operations Wednesday morning.
