EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - The Effingham County community came together Monday night to remember a husband and wife who died last December as a result of a murder-suicide.
Nick and Tracy Mueller were found dead at their catering business in Guyton on Dec. 13 after officials say Nick killed his wife and then took his own life. The couple was a major part of the catering and culinary community and had a reputation for quality food and service.
WSAV spoke with Cynthia Creighton-Jones, a family friend, who said it was more about celebrating their friends than mourning them.
"Nick and Tracy meant so much to us and set such a high bar in the community with their standard of service, standard of food, their generosity and how they treated people," she said. "I mean, they really set the bar high for everybody and we were all just scrambling to meet that bar."
