Community Corner: The Market at 3 West Ridge returns in February, proceeds

Mark your calendars and get ready to shop 'til you drop for a great cause!

Next month, St. Peter's Episcopal Church will host its annual fundraiser to help agencies that serve our area's most vulnerable children.

Christy Edwards, Executive Director of Horizons Savannah-- one of this year's beneficiaries of 'The Market at 3 West Ridge'-- and Susan Homar, co-chair of "The Market', sat down with News 3's Kim Gusby on Today's Community Corner to talk about the three-day event that also supports local nonprofit, Ferst Readers.

Horizons Savannah, a 6 week full-day summer program for students K-8, provides rigorous courses in reading, math, science, social emotional learning, physical wellness and swimming. Proceeds will provide funds for teacher and swim instructor salaries, supplies and educational field trips for the 330 students attending this program.

Ferst Readers provides quality books and literacy materials to parents during the child's earliest years. Funds will allow Ferst Readers to make books available on monthly basis to parents of children ages birth to five through Parent University and the Habersham YMCA Childcare Center.

The 2025 Market shopping boutique and plant sale will be held on February 4 - 6 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island. Twenty unique Market vendors from around the country will bring a full complement of upscale items which are not available locally. This includes clothing for women and men, classic and contemporary jewelry, fine linens, unique home goods, gourmet food items, and spring plants.

100% of the Market's profits go to supporting Horizons Savannah and Ferst Readers with the vendors contributing 15% of their sales.
