Crews respond to Long County brush fire

LONG COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – Crews in Long County are on the scene of a brush fire at Mill Pond and Stafford Dairy roads.

Long County Capt. Chris Stock said the fire is about 80 percent contained.

Officials remain on the scene Thursday afternoon to monitor hotspots as there is still a concern that high winds could ignite the fires.

Surrounding structures are being manned to ensure no homes are at risk should the wind intensify, Stock said.
