9:30 a.m. - Day two of the trial is underway.
9:45 a.m. - Prosecution questions Chatham County Police Department Officer Philip Schenker on the search of Simon's residence.
9:55 a.m. - Officer Philip Schenker walks through photos taken around the home's exterior.
10:09 a.m. Officer Philip Schenker steps down to explain the layout of the home and changes that have been made to it over time.
10:36 a.m. - Officer Philip Schenker is questioned on photos he took of Simon's Dodge Journey after it was towed to FBI Savannah.
10:42 a.m. - Officer Philip Schenker is questioned on efforts to obtain video footage from homes and businesses in the surrounding area. Specifically a Chevron gas station at the Ogeechee Rd. and Buckhalter Rd. intersection.
10:50 a.m. - Officer Philip Schenker walks through collected footage from the Azalea mobile home dumpster, and a vehicle registered to Simon turned into it between 1:18 and 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 5. This is where the state is alleging Quinton’s body was dumped.
10:58 a.m. - Defense begins questioning Officer Philip Schenker. Attorney Hilliard asked if there was any questionable evidence submitted for further examination from the vehicle, whereas Schenker responded no.
11:16 a.m. - 15-minute break.
11:40 a.m. - The prosecution calls its next witness. CCPD detective Marian Lemmons takes the stand.
11:50 a.m. - Officer Lemmons walks the court through photos and footage collected during the investigation.
12:18 p.m. - The prosecution plays a 30-minute video of Detective Lemmons speaking with Leilani Simons for the first time.
12:30 p.m. - The prosecution paused the video to ask Detective Lemmons to address Facebook messages Simon says were sent by her boyfriend's father. Investigators were unable to find those messages in the Facebook records they received.
12:32 p.m. - The prosecution resumes playing the video.
12:45 p.m. - The judge stops the video and asks the jury to leave the room. The stoppage was to address that a juror had appeared to fall asleep during the video.
12:54 p.m. - The jurors are brought back into the room and playing of the video is resumed.
1:00 p.m. - Court breaks for 50-minute lunch
2:06 p.m. - The jury is being brought back in and the trial has resumed. The prosecution will continue with questioning Detective Lemmons.
2:28 p.m. - Detective Lemmons explains what the process is for doing a data extraction of a cell phone. This is due to the video showing Leilani Simon giving officers consent to search her phone.
2:44 p.m. - The state shows the jury a video of Simons being questioned by detectives on Oct. 5 around 3 p.m.
2:54 p.m. - Video is paused, the prosecution asked Detective Lemmons said that Simon's demeanor was not consistent when she was interviewed. She said that Simmons would have "hysterical, yelling rants." In response to the prosecution, Lemmons said that when the line of questioning would "sometimes when it kind of questioned her statement or her timeline, it would start to escalate into this."
3:00 p.m. - Prior to Simon leaving her home, she said in the video shown by prosecution that Quinton was asleep when she left, and when she returned home after around 20 minutes, he was still asleep.
3:08 p.m. - Simon said that Quinton was fine when she returned home. After question by police, she said that she didn't want to think about the possibilities of her fiancé to have done anything. She said he was acting normal the morning that Quinton went missing. Simon said that there were three hours between when her fiancé left to when she woke up.
3:26 p.m. - Lemmons said that in the video, Simons said she had left the home because she thought her fiancé was talking to other women.
3:39 p.m. - Lemmons said that Simons denied the possibility that Quinton could've gotten out of the pack-n-play he was in.
3:41 p.m. - 15-minute break.
4:25 p.m. - An FBI Savannah agent is questioned about bringing in FBI landfill specialist.
4:35 p.m. - Lemmons is brought back onto the stand.
4:44 p.m. - Simon's written statement is accepted into evidence.
4:48 p.m. - Lemmon reads Simon's written statement, where it said that Simon had checked the locks several times prior to going to sleep. Lemmons also agreed with prosecution that Simon's could have corrected her original statements in her written statement.
4:51 p.m. - Prosecution shows a video where Simon's told Officer Carleson and Agent Savannah Soloman where Simon said that she can "flip a switch."
"It's almost like a completely different person," Simon said.
4:55 p.m. - Court takes a 10-minute break.
5:07 p.m. - The break is over.
5:12 p.m. - Lemmons said that after going through Simon's phone, she found messages about Percocets when Simmons told her that she had only smoked marijuana.
5:37 p.m. - In a recorded police interview, Simon begins crying and said she has been honest, and she doesn't know where her "baby" is.
5:40 p.m. - Simon starts crying again in the recorded police interview and says, "He was my happy baby."
5:41 p.m. - Prosecution paused recorded police interview and asked, "Was, not is?"
6:02 p.m. - Jurors are released for the evening.
6:07 p.m. - Court in recess until 10 a.m. Wednesday.
