BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) -- Travel website World Atlas has named Beaufort to its 10 Best Downtowns in the United States list.
Chosen for its antebellum architecture, historic district, and rich cultural past, Beaufort is in the heart of the Sea Islands and Lowcountry. World Atlas also cited Beaufort's thriving food scene, historic museums, and outdoor areas. Shopping was another draw for tourists.
