WALTHOURVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) An early morning fire in Walthourville has displaced a family of three.
According to an officer from the Walthourville Police Department, the fire began shortly before 2 a.m. on the 100 block of Martin Court.
Firefighters from the Walthourville Fire Department (WFD) were dispatched to the area when the homeowner called 911 to report his neighbors may have been burning trash and smoke was entering his home.
WFD arrived to find the home 30 to 40 percent engulfed in flames. The homeowner was able to exit the residence safely with his family.
The cause of the fire has not been officially identified and is under investigation.
