SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Georgia has a strong defensive second half to get the win over #7 Tennessee. Georgia Southern offense struggles to keep pace with Troy and the Falcons never get off the ground in Denver.
Here is this week’s review of college and NFL football around Georgia.
#12 Georgia vs #7 Tennessee – Georgia comes away big against a top-ranked SEC rival Tennessee. The Bulldogs shut out the Volunteers in the second half in a 31-17 win.
Georgia QB Carson Beck was 25 of 40 for 347 yards and two touchdowns on the day. Beck was also responsible for 32 rushing yards and one touchdown on three carries.
RB Nate Frazier contributed to the scoring with one rushing touchdown on the day. Frazier rushed for 68 yards on 19 carries.
Georgia remains at home this week as they take on the 2-8 Massachusetts Minutemen.
Friday Night Blitz 2024 Week 14 scores, highlights
Georgia Southern vs Troy Trojans – Georgia Southern comes up short in a 28-20 loss to the Troy Trojans. The Eagles had 246 yards of total offense on the day while Troy accounted for 441 yards of offense.
Quarterback JC French was 17 of 28 for 171 yards through the air. French had no touchdowns on the day but was responsible for throwing an interception. Georgia Southern's two touchdowns came on the ground. WR Josh Dallas and RB Jalen White were each responsible for running one in.
Georgia Southern will now hit the road to take on 5-5 Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C.
Georgia Tech vs North Carolina State – Georgia Tech is coming off a bye week following a big win over #4 Miami. The Yellow Jackets are now set to take on the 5-5 North Carolina State Wolfpack this Saturday.
Atlanta Falcons vs Denver Broncos - The Falcons offense was never able to get off the ground in Mile High Stadium. Atlanta fell to Denver this past Sunday in a one-sided 38-6 loss. The Falcons accounted for 226 yards of total offense on the day.
Atlanta QB Kirk Cousins was 18 of 27 for 173 yards and one interception. The Falcons' only two scores were field goals by kicker Younghoe Koo. Koo was two for two on the day with field goals of 48 and 51 yards.
Atlanta is now on their bye week and will resume play on December 1st as they take on the 7-3 Los Angeles Chargers.
