Griffin, Brooking make verbals offical during early signing period

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Two standout football players during the NCAA early signing period are from Savannah Christian Preparatory School.

Five-star defensive end Elijah Griffin had already verbally committed to Georgia back on Oct. 18. His signing to UGA was no surprise at all. His head coach Baker Woodward said Elijah had 301 tackles for his career.

"There's space for people to come in," Griffin said when asked about the defensive line depth at UGA. "I just want to compete day by day. Just stay humble because I just want to separate myself from everybody else and not do what everybody else is doing. I just want to get on the field to be and be a freshman all-American and be the best me I can be."

Logan Brooking also put pen to paper, at Savannah Christian. The three-star tight end is headed to Clemson. He committed back on Nov. 3, 2023.

"It means everything to me," Brooking said. "It's been my dream since a little kid to play for an elite program. I knew as soon as I stepped on campus that I wanted to get that I wanted to be a Clemson Tiger."

The early signing period started Wednesday, Dec. 4 and runs through Friday, Dec. 6.
