VIDALIA, Ga. (WSAV) — Police are investigating after a robbery was reported at the Kay Jewelers on East First Street Wednesday.
Officers responded to the jewelry store around 5 p.m., a Vidalia Police Department (VPD) spokesperson said.
An investigation soon followed.
Captain Investigator John Humphrey of the VPD's Investigative Services Division shared information on the happenings on Thursday. According to Humphrey, three black males with partially covered faces entered into Kay Jewelers at approximately 5:07 p.m.
One of the suspects retrieved an object from his jacket and used it to smash a display case, stealing multiple pieces of jewelry.
All three suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle. The estimated value of the stolen jewelry exceeds $130,000.
