SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - The list of honorees for the 2024 Savannah College of Art & Design's SCAD Savannah Film Festival got one name longer on Thursday with the addition of Oscar-nominated actor Kevin Costner.
The Hollywood Reporter announced that Costner would attend the annual festival and receive the Legend of Cinema Award. This comes several weeks after the release of this year's lineup, which includes Hit Man director Richard Linklater, Sing Sing star Colman Domingo and Anora star Mikey Madison.
Costner is perhaps best known for his roles in Dances with Wolves, which won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1990, and The Bodyguard (1992) with Whitney Houston. More recently, he was at the helm of Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1, the first installment in a series of neo-Westerns to be written by, directed by and starring the iconic actor.
The SCAD Savannah Film Festival will be held on Broughton Street in Downtown Savannah from Saturday, October 26 to Saturday, November 2.
