Man charged with murder after gunfight at Ridgeland gas station

RIDGELAND, S.C. (WSAV) – A 21-year-old died after a gunfight at a Ridgeland gas station last week, police said.

The shooting happened at the Enmarket on E Main Street around 11:20 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.

The Ridgeland Police Department said investigators determined that Rodney Lloyd Jr. and Nylon Chaney got into an argument, and Lloyd had been shot.

He later died as a result of his injuries, officials said.

Later that night, 21-year-old Chaney turned himself in to law enforcement.

He awaits a bond hearing as he faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
