SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Superior Court Judge Tammy Stokes has granted a motion for a mistrial in the murder trial of Micky Hamilton.
The motion comes after the emergence of new evidence involving a key State witness.
On Nov. 14, 2020, officers with the Savannah Police Department responded to the Deluxe Inn on Ogeechee Road and discovered 40-year-old Richard Vinson dead in one of the guest rooms.
Hamilton was arrested at the scene and booked into the Chatham County jail on murder charges.
Hamilton was indicted by a Chatham County grand jury in July 2021 on murder and other charges.
A new jury trial is scheduled for Sept. 29, according to court records.
