RICHMOND HILL, Ga. (WSAV) - A massive construction site off Belfast Keller Road will soon be the brand-new Richmond Hill High School.
It's a $132 million dollar investment. The school is set to open in Fall 2025 and will hold 2,000 students.
Renee Harden told News 3 that the price tag of the school is hefty but worth it. She said her son will start his freshman year of high school there next year.
"I think it's well worth it for the education that the kids are going to get," Harden said. "They have more programs to offer. They have a commercial culinary kitchen for students, a dance studio and different things like that. The kids will be able to enjoy and go ahead and decide what they want to do before they get to college."
Deputy Superintendent Trey Robertson said in a newsletter from the school system that flooring has been poured, classrooms have been painted and furniture and other equipment is being delivered.
Harden said she hopes the school will be fully staffed before they open and that the educators will meet the needs of the growing community.

"I'm hopeful they can get more teachers for students who need IEPs, you know, special needs and things like that as well," Harden said.
The school system has also announced that they are working on plans for a new Bryan County High School, which would open in 2028.
