CUMBERLAND ISLAND, Ga. (WSAV) — A portion of Cumberland Island will be closed on Wednesday for the third managed hunt of the year.
The Wilderness Area, the main road north of the wilderness boundary, Plum Orchard Mansion and dock will be closed to all visitation between Dec. 3-5. This closure includes hiking, biking and camping.
Please heed all areas closed signs on the island.
Those registered will be hunting with primitive weapons for hog and deer.
The next hunt is scheduled for Dec. 21-22, 2024 and is a youth, age 10-17, hunt. For more information, visit the 'Managed Hunts' page on the Cumberland Island National Park Service website.
