Roadblock: Generation Z's power at the polls

We are exactly one week away from the General election next Tuesday, November 5.

All day long, we're getting you ready to head to the polls— if you haven't voted already. If you have-- a lesson in civic engagement.

Over the past year, much attention has been focused on the attitudes of America's youngest voters— the subgroup known as Generation Z — the more than forty million young people, including eight million newly eligible voters, who were born roughly between 1995 and 2006.

From learning how to vote to canvassing support, many are embracing the civic process of voting.

John Bennett is the Assistant Professor of Public Administration for the Department of Social Sciences at Savannah State University.

Amil Lotson is the vice president of SSU's Student Government Association.

They sat down with News 3's Kim Gusby to talk about the impact young voters may have at the polls.
