Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools says they are aware of the PowerScho

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools (SCCPSS) is letting families know that it is aware of the recent issue with the cybersecurity of PowerSchool.

On January 8, 2025, PowerSchool informed SCCPSS that they were responding to a cybersecurity incident involving their main systems. It was discovered that an unauthorized party gained access to certain PowerSchool customer data belonging to students and teachers in various K-12 school districts across the nation. 

According to PowerSchool, the incident is contained and they do not anticipate that the data will be shared or made public and that there is no evidence of malware or continued unauthorized activity.

PowerSchool is a cloud-based software platform that provides student information systems (SIS) and other products for K-12 schools.
