Sea Turtle Patrol of Hilton Head Island receives 2024 Angel Award

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WSAV) - Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island (HHI) is one of ten recipients of the South Carolina Secretary of State's (SOS) Angel Award.

The non-profit provides annual monitoring and support on Hilton Head Island beaches for sea turtle nesting and hatching activity. 95.9% of the organization's expenditures are given directly to sea turtle conservation.

There are 17,000 registered non-profits in South Carolina. Only 10 are chosen for the Angel Award by South Carolina SOS, Mark Hammond. The Angel Award designates "charities that have made significant contributions to the well-being of South Carolinians and that have demonstrated good stewardship of charitable resources."

"This prestigious designation highlights our commitment to sea turtle conservation and our dedication to good stewardship of charitable resources," Sea Turtle Patrol HHI said in a statement.
