Search underway for suspect in Colleton County death

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WSAV) — One man is dead, and officials in Colleton County are asking for the public's help to find the suspect.

After a 911 call reporting a gunshot victim was placed on Wednesday, Jan. 30, an adult male was found with life threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital by Colleton County Fire-Rescue but succumbed to his injuries.

Clint Crosby, 40, is a suspect in the shooting, a Colleton County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) spokesperson said. He was last seen driving a dark grey Toyota Tacoma bearing SC Tag #685AMB.

Authorities said that Crosby should be considered armed and dangerous. He may be in the Goose Creek area of Berkeley County or could be heading toward Tennessee or Kentucky.

He may also be in the company of a second adult male who could be a witness to the incident and driving a silver Toyota Prius with SC Tag #UEV809.

A CCSO spokesperson said that Crosby will be facing charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Witnesses said that the shooting occurred after a dispute between the deceased man and another adult male.

According to witnesses, the shooting occurred on Dover Bluff Lane following a dispute between the victim and another man.
