SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Sen. Jon Ossoff will serve on the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations which is responsible for shaping federal budgets and allocating funds, his office announced on Thursday.
Ossoff’s appointment to the Appropriations Committee will enable him to shape Federal budgets to deliver for the people of Georgia, his office said.
“I look forward to serving on the Senate Appropriations Committee in the new Congress, where I will continue working across the aisle to deliver for Georgia,” Ossoff said. “On the Intelligence Committee, I will continue to focus on strengthening U.S. national security and leading effective bipartisan Congressional oversight.”
He will also continue serving on the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee and the Senate Rules Committee.
This appointment right before the 119th Congress begins its legislative session on Jan. 3.
