Sex offenders in Effingham County must report to jail on Halloween

EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - Sex offenders will have to report to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office on the evening of Halloween.

On Thursday, Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie announced that all sex offenders who are currently being supervised by probation or parole will have to report to the Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, October 31 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

On Wednesday through Thursday, deputies will be patrolling neighborhoods and ahead of trick-or-treat time, will be “double-checking” each of Effingham County sex offender’s home addresses.
