So how busy will Black Friday be? According to the National Retail Federation, 2023 marked the busiest the shopping day has been since before the pandemic. Although 2024 Black Friday are anticipated to grow, they also are predicted to remain lower than pre-pandemic levels. Reports expect the holiday to be busy and that more than 130 million people will shop online, in-person or both on Black Friday
While major retailers such as Target, Walmart and Bass Pro Shops attract crowds on Black Friday, the focus on Small Business Saturday offers a chance to explore Savannah's local creative and Entrepreneurial spirit. "Small businesses, they are really the heartbeat of Savannah," said Kristen Harkleroad, the Fancy Pheasant boutique owner. "They are why people come here, that is what makes [Savannah] so charming. I have about 50 small businesses here at the Fancy Pheasant and they are amazing, hardworking people."
