BRUNSWICK, Ga. (WSAV) – The Georgia Department of Transportation closed the Sidney Lanier Bridge on SR 25 Thursday.
Officials said large chunks of ice falling onto the roadway caused the closure.

"In the interest of public safety, the closure will remain in place until the ice has thawed and is not long a threat to motorists," GDOT stated.
The bridge closed down at 3 p.m. until further notice.
