STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) - A teenager is dead, and two others are injured after police said a fistfight turned deadly at a Statesboro apartment complex.
It happened Tuesday evening in the Pinewood Manor neighborhood involving about eight or more people, Statesboro Police Chief Mike Broadhead told News 3.
"At this point, we do have good information and a good follow-up investigation,” Broadhead said. “We just have to confirm a few things before we make an arrest."
Investigators believe two friend groups pre-arranged a fight in the victim’s neighborhood off of Packinghouse Road because of an ongoing personal dispute.
Investigators say during the fight, one of the groups drew a gun and started shooting, hitting three people. One died as a result.

The two others were taken to the hospital. Broadhead said it looks like they will recover.
The chief would not disclose the ages of any person involved but confirmed the case does have connections to Statesboro High School.
There will be an increased law enforcement presence at the school, possibly for the remainder of the week, officials said.
"Of course, it's a tragedy when you have young people involved," said Broadhead. "We have a family that's suffering the loss of a child and that's always a difficult thing."
He said investigators still have some more pieces to put together before they make an arrest, but they do have a list of suspects.
Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to contact Statesboro detectives or their local law enforcement agency. Information may be provided to Senior Detective Cross at 912-764-9911 or by submitting an anonymous tip through the website using the “Submit a Tip” link.
The Statesboro Police Department, Bulloch County Sheriff's Office and Bulloch County Emergency Medical Services were involved in the response.
