Suspect wanted in connection to 2024 murder of a teen arrested in Tennessee

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection to a 2024 murder in Pembroke.

Emmanuel Lee Williams was taken into custody on Wednesday after a traffic stop in Coffee County, Tennessee. He was wanted in connection to a murder of 14-year-old Michael Jmai Palmer.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), on May 10, 2024, Palmer was found shot at an apartment on Dubois Street in Miller Village by officers with the Pembroke Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Two days later, GBI arrested and charged Israel Lee Williams, 16, for the murder.

Emmanuel Williams has also been charged with murder. He is currently being held in the Coffee County jail until he can be returned to Bryan County. 

Investigators say he will remain in the Bryan County Jail until his first court appearance.
