VALDOSTA, Ga. (WSAV) - The Valdosta Police Department (VPD) is currently investigating a homicide that occurred early Monday morning.
According to VPD's Facebook, officers responded to the 700 block of Stillwater Drive at approximately 3:10 am following several calls about gunshots in the area. One caller stated that someone appeared to be lying on the ground near a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 41-year-old male victim unresponsive on the ground. The victim had obvious signs of trauma and was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
VPD crime personnel responded to conduct the investigation, through which detectives have developed a person of interest and believe this to be an isolated incident.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information has been released at this time.
