Weather Aware Wednesday: A cold front will bring tumbling temperatures

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Scattered rain and storms have impacted the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry this morning as a cold front pushed through the southeast. This system will continue to bring gusty winds to the region for the rest of the day with showers subsiding early in the afternoon.

The primary threat moving forward will be gusty winds around 20-40 mph even after the front passes.

Much colder air will begin to funnel into the region as the cold front pushes off of the coast. Today's high temperatures have already occurred this morning and as we head into the overnight hours temperatures will plummet into the 30s across the area.

Temperatures Thursday morning are expected to be right around or just above freezing with highs remaining in the 50s to end the work week.
